Digital technology must become an integral part of a zero-emissions future.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>From a <strong>cybersecurity <\/strong>perspective, the challenge becomes more complicated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Protect <\/strong>critical infrastructure by ensuring availability and resilience;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reduce <\/strong>energy and water impacts simultaneously.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A clear paradigm shift is needed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Energy efficiency as a structural constraint in design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Innovative cooling<\/strong>, reducing water use through air systems, immersion cooling or alternative sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Adoption of renewable energy <\/strong>as standard, not optional.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Responsible recycling <\/strong>of hardware and optimization of production chains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We cannot protect the digital future by sacrificing the environmental future.<br>As security professionals and as citizens, we must demand a <strong>sustainable digital transition<\/strong>. Data resilience must walk hand in hand with the resilience of the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Despite the push for a green economy, datacenters remain energy-intensive and unsustainable, consuming vast amounts of electricity and water.
